Over at Liberal Conspiracy they have been discussing whether political parties should have minority-only shortlists in certain constituencies. Apparently both Labour and the Lib Dems have been toying with this well-meaning but dangerous idea.
I have added a comment there, pointing out that, if we had STV in multi-member constituencies, this whole debate would be rendered completely unnecessary at a stroke.
